The Saturday match scene has totally changed over the last season, with the addition of outing matches; giving you a good chance to fish waters that you may never normally fish within the excitement of the match.
Matches run from the beginning of June and finish at the end of October for normal course fishing. From November onwards there is a pike match series for those who like braving the cold.
In an attempt to please, even more matches are being added during what is the official closed season of March 15th to June 15th. The club is adding sweep stake matches in the form of outings and some very exciting venues are being booked, so keep a look out in the latest news on the Home page for the "when and where."
Diss Angling Club has a very busy match scene with matches run on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sunday throughout the season. That’s a massive 89 matches! There are cup matches and series that run throughout the season. The Club can boast it had over 52 trophies that are up for grabs for those luckily enough to win. As well as the chance to fish the Angling Times Super Cup, as the Club now enters a team. Within the Club, matches are not just about the winning. It’s also a good chance to learn new tactics that will improve you as an angler, as well as the chance to help others around you with their fishing.
Encouraging the juniors is also part of the Club’s make up and we run a junior series where some of the Club’s top anglers run and give advice to anyone with a willing ear to learn.
Tuesday matches are just a summer series run in the afternoons and aimed at those who are retired but that does not mean the younger person cannot fish them. If you’re lucky enough to get some time off work pop along and enjoy some relaxed fishing in a match.

Sunday’s hold a mixed bag of matches; there are inter-club team matches, outings, many cup matches, Super Cup matches.
There really is something for everyone one a Sunday.
Sunday matches start in June and run right through to the end of March and is again a good chance to learn the art of fishing from some of the club top anglers if you are lucky enough to get drawn near them and are able to sit, watch and learn.
