19th September
King Ling Victorious at Brockdish
Mark ling proved to be king of the river when Diss Angling Club had it match on the
river on 19th September. Fishing from peg 9 Ling caught early and reaped the rewards
from it. The swim dried up for him during the middle of the match but with a good
final hour Mark brought 5lb 12.5 to the scales. Second on the day went to Andrew
Mears. Mears was bite less for the first three and a half hours of the match but
then the switched on, giving Mears a bite a chuck for the remainder of the match.
Mears final weight was 4lb 9.5. Third on the day went to Bill Crisp with 3lb 14.
27th September
Wilby takes Eric Madgett Memorial
The Eric Madgett Memorial was fished on 20th September on Diss Mere. With 12 anglers
all hoping for rich pickings from the Mere which has been in good form all season
yet again it didn't leave those who made it down. George Wilby once again drew laters
and set about the roach rudd and skimmer which inhabit the area. With bites coming
regular Wilby made a good winning weight of 18lb 14. Second went to Peter Wall who
fished from prolific peg 3. Wall caught slivers and brought 16lb 15 to the scales.
Third on the day went to Keith Rodwell with 14lb 13.
22nd September
Barry has his Day
Eye Ponds New side was the venue for the mid week match. On a day
when the fish did not show it was left down to one man to come out on top with the
only bag of fish to be caught in the match. Barry Day cleaned up with just 1lb 8
on a very hard day at eye.
